Importance of Central Theme
The last decade has seen the globalization of the planet, characterized by strong world economic growth. Unlike past growth cycles in the past, now emerging countries such as Brazil, Russia, India and China are playing a central role, increasing the number of consumers on the planet. Moreover, the globalization of markets has increased the competition between the industries, in the search for productivity, quality and lower costs. This positive scenario offers a great challenge to unlock energy and environmental bottlenecks. Studies suggest that the only feasible way to solve this dilemma is through technological innovation. Only with new processes, new energy sources and new human habits it will be possible to accommodate the growing number of consumers in the international standards of comfort. Industrial automation plays an important role in facing up to these challenges, both to increase the productivity of the industry and to protect the environment. The Brazil Automation 2008 Congress intends to identify ways to help answer this question.
The ISA District 4 South America invites you to send your abstracts for presentation and consideration by the Technical Committee.
General criteria
There might be chosen papers of professionals (technical or academical) with applications in industries; universities, research centers, consultancy etc.
The summaries shall have the shape of cases studies and innovations; practical experiences; technological innovations; new technologies; theoretical studies.
The Technical Committee will give priority to the papers which fit into the industrial automation reality of the South American countries.
The criteria for selection are based on the knowledge of Committee members, who will consider, primarily, the innovations, the thoroughness and the feasibility of the proposal.
Papers cannot be commercial in nature. Any paper that, in the judgment of the Technical Committee, makes reference to any particular product, manufacturer or product model designation in commercial manners will be refused.
